Now that it’s officially November I can talk about Christmas,/the holidays right?? 😉
Actually, I can hardly believe that “Black Friday” is less than 3 weeks away! I’ve never been a huge Black Friday shopper, until the past couple of years – and that’s only because of online deals. I mean, what is better than shopping from your couch in your comfy pants, am I right??
We definitely try to find some Black Friday deals for our family, and especially the kiddos, to try and save some cash, but inevitably I always do some shopping for myself that day, too! 😉
And while the big box stores will always have a bunch of great deals, there are some great deals to be had at smaller stores/websites, so I thought I would compile my list of websites I will be hitting up on Friday, November 25th to share!
In no particular order, here are the places where I can’t wait to score some deals:

- I am pretty much in love with my Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser. I was running low a couple years ago right around Thanksgiving. I happened to think about it while online shopping that Black Friday. I tried going to the Ulta site, but because it was Philosophy brand, there were no additional savings (whomp, whomp). Then the light bulb went off and I realized I should check out the philosophy.com site itself. Not only did they have a great Black Friday deal, they offered a super huge bottle of the cleanser. So I bought two, which is usually enough to last me until the next Black Friday (or until the next super sale from the Philosophy site).
- The clothes from Hannah Andersson are just the cutest, but alas, they are not cheap. I also really love their pajamas, especially Christmas/holiday-themed ones! For the past several years they have had some killer sales on their children’s pajamas – but act fast! They sell out of sizes really fast!I also try after Christmas to see if I can get lucky and score some Christmas jammies for the next year on clearance.
- I love me some Root mineral make-up. I just stocked up, actually, since I was out, but I am likely heading back for more come 11/25, since they have not disappointed in the past with some extra special Black Friday savings. I didn’t previously mention in this post, but they also sell samples of a lot of their makeup – starting at only $2 for some! It’s a great way to try out the makeup, or figure out what shade works for you. Or…stocking stuffers! Hint, hint, Jeff! 😉
- I recently started getting more into using essential oils. I had been using them to make some homemade cleaners, but I read about the benefits of diffusing them or applying them topically. Enter Rocky Mountain Oils.DISCLAIMER: I am definitely not an expert in essential oils. I’ve only just started myself, so I highly recommend researching to know more. There are LOADS of blogs and essential oil seller/reps that know WAY more than me! 😉 I did do a lot of initial research – at least to learn about the different brands, that’s how I found out about Rocky Mountain Oils and I have been super happy with all of the products I’ve purchased so far!
Since I’m still so new to essential oils, there are lots of oils on my list still to try, so I know I’ll be checking out the RMO site come Black Friday to see how much I can score!
There are loads of other “less visible” deals out there too. Last year I saw our local zoo had a special Black Friday price on their membership packages, which was amazing because they rarely go on sale! I also was able to grab a great deal on some beer brewing supplies for the hubs a few years back from Northern Brewer and this really awesome portable keg from Man Can.
So basically, I love to check all my favorite retailers and webshops on Black Friday (and let’s not forget Cyber Monday!) because sometimes I really luck out and stumble onto to some amazing steals!
And of course, don’t let this list fool you. I am a HUGE fan of Amazon’s Black Friday deals. Last year, Jeff and I dropped the kids at daycare, went to a local coffee shop to get breakfast, and shopped from our phones/iPads, almost entirely on Amazon. Then we hit up a couple brick-and-mortar stores (after the chaos died down), too. It was sort of amazing because we completed our Christmas shopping that day!
Lastly, I’ll leave you with this. I know we all probably get far too much junk email, but I highly recommend signing up for website email lists. Not only do you usually get a special code for signing up, but even better, you’ll find out about the Black Friday deals first, generally. You can always unsubscribe as soon as the holiday season is over, too, if you really hate all the mail.
Side note: I use Gmail and I LOVE how it automatically separates my email into different tabs. I have one tab just for promotions. The best part? I don’t tons of email notifications – only for those emails that show up in the “main” tab (the really important emails). I just go into the Promotions tab once or twice a day and clear it out (since I hate email clutter!). Since I love organizing, Google pretty much read my mind on this one! 😉
Oh, and don’t forget to use Ebates to earn some cash back while you shop!
Happy shopping everyone!
And don’t forget to vote tomorrow! 🙂
