I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (and Happy Hanukah, as well, to those still celebrating!)! Christmas for us was, as predicted, crazy, chaotic, stressful, surprising, and wonderful!

Santa was very good to all of us – including me! The husband and I were not supposed to really exchange presents – just stocking stuff, since we purchased a Roomba robotic vacuum over the summer. But I was totally shocked to see I received an Apple Watch in my stocking! I had been on the fence if I would use one, but I’ve been using it for a few days and while I’m sure I still have a lot to learn, overall I really love it! I already ordered a second band so I can switch it out on occasion. Thanks, Santa!! 😉
Now that Christmas is over, I am definitely ready for 2017, in that I’d like to focus on some goals I have for myself in 2017. I’ve never been a huge “resolutions” kind of girl, but there are some things I’d like to improve in myself and my house and it seems like the new year is a great time to kick it off!
So I thought I would share some of these resolutions/goals here, mainly to try and hold myself accountable! 😉
- Get fit. I know, super original, eh? 😉
I shared here about taking the Arbonne Challenge twice this year. I felt so amazing each time, and had so much energy, that I’m really mad at myself for falling off the wagon. But it’s clearly more than just eating right. I need to start exercising…even though I loathe exercising. I’d really like to get an exercise bike since I have horrible feet and knees. This one looks promising and isn’t too expensive either, so I’m thinking this could be the best thing to start with.
- Learn how to use our camera a bit better (and then actually take more pictures!).
We’ve had a professional camera since Brynn was 1, and I’ve been lucky to get some good pictures here or there, but I know I could probably do better if I learned a bit more about how it works. First step – investigate some YouTube video tutorials!
- Get organized.
Wow, I really am cliche, aren’t I?? 🙂 Specifically, I want to focus on more toy storage and organization this year. Even more specifically, small toy storage. Brynn loves all things small – Shopkins, Squinkies, and really any tiny figurine. We have some containers to corral them, but it’s getting out of hand again. Especially since now she has even MORE thanks to Christmas and, of course, now she also has matching playsets like the Squinkie Do Drops Clubhouse. oy vey. I’ve had my eye on a bunch of carrying cases and other storage options on Amazon; I’m really hoping one (or more!) of these do the trick! before we drown in a sea of Squinkies! (Ideas here, here, here, and here)
What about all of you? Do you have any goals for 2017? Anyone have any fantastic toy storage ideas they’d like to share with me? (Or better yet, does anyone want to come and be the first to slap my hand every time I reach for more of these darn Christmas cookies??) 😉
