I can’t believe it’s Friday already! This week flew by, despite really dreary, rainy weather, and a cold that just won’t quit (15 days and counting and I’m still sick as a dog!). And since this day was sort of depressing, even without my cold and the weather, I thought I go for something fun, like a little Five on Friday! So, what do you say? Let’s dive right in!

one. I desperately needed a new winter coat. The one I had last year was just something I got because I needed a coat and couldn’t find anything I really liked, so I got a cheap, placeholder coat, if you will. I still wasn’t wowed by much of what I was seeing, until this baby caught my eye. Best part – it was on clearance! It’s out of stock currently, but you can get one without the print here.
two. In my last Five on Friday, I mentioned I was on the look out for some new jeans. Well, I lucked out and the ones I wanted from Nordstrom went on sale! Score! I scooped up a pair and the verdict is in – they’re my new favorites. I’m just kicking myself now that I didn’t buy two pairs! 😉 I really love how they have some stretch and give to them. The wash is great, and so is the length (which can be a problem for occasionally at 5’9″). I will definitely be going back for more!
three. I found yet another show to binge! 🙂 The hubs and I recently discovered The OA which is a Netflix original. It’s super addictive! It’s a bit sci-fi – it doesn’t take place in space or the distant future, but does have some science-y stuff in it. I don’t want to give away too much, though, since sometimes I unintentionally give away spoilers! I’ll just say, I really enjoyed Stranger Things, and while this is not the same, I feel like others that enjoyed Stranger Things, may enjoy this too.
Anyone else addicted to this?? I feel like I was hooked within minutes, but especially so after the first episode finished!
four. Have you heard of Blue Apron?? Guys, this is the most amazing thing. We’ve been getting advertisers in the mail trying to get us to sign up, and I’ve seen sponsored Facebook posts as well. We finally bit the bullet and signed up. Blue Apron, if you’re not familiar, is a meal delivery service… well really an ingredient and recipe delivery service. They send you ALL the ingredients, pre-measured (!), to make 3 delicious and healthy meals. So you do all the cooking, but the provide the tools (the ingredients as well as detailed, picture guides on how to make each meal). And when I say all the ingredients, I mean it – all the way down to flour and seasonings!
There are so many other awesome things they do from a company level too (such as sustainable seafood, non-GMO ingredients, the list goes on!).
They promise you’ll never eat the same recipe twice within the same year. They promise to send you better quality food at a better price because they cut out the middle man. They have vegetarian options too!
This week we enjoyed Indonesian-Spiced Salmon with Freekeh & Marinated Radishes, Seared Chicken & Mashed Potatoes with Kale, Mushrooms & Verjus, and Pibil-Style Pork with Spinach & Citrus Rice. And they were all seriously super delicious! I’m pretty sure neither Jeff nor I would ever think to make meals like this during the week, but it was super easy (at least Jeff says so, since he is the cook). 😉
P.S. – This was not a paid advertisement for Blue Apron. I just genuinely really loved our first week of food and now I’m trying to convince my husband to keep going! He loves it too, but we want to ensure it really is a budget conscious option for us, since the hubs is pretty savvy at saving money on grocery shopping.
five. Another thing I needed to buy is a new bra (guess I’ve needed a lot of clothes lately!). I’ve always purchased my bras at Victoria’s Secret, but I’m never really loved how they fit. I heard of this company called ThirdLove that boasts having the best fitting/feeling bra you’ll find. They even have an app that can find your correct bra size for you (without measuring – just pictures!).
Another extra bonus – you can try one of their t-shirt bras for just $2.99 – that’s the cost of shipping. If you don’t love it, just send it back (if you do love it, though, you do have to buy it!). 😉
I got two, a full coverage and the t-shirt bra…and I LOVE them both! They are so comfortable and provide so much support! But the best part, is that most of the time I forget I’m even wearing it (which is generally not the case – I’m a size 34E). Click here to check them out!
I’m looking forward to the weekend – hoping I can get some rest to finally kick this cold to the curb! Hope you all have a lovely weekend, too!
