Helloooooooo out there!
I’m still here! I can’t believe how quickly the past couple of weeks have went. Between Asher’s birthday, my birthday, and an all-consuming work project, I have been neglecting my poor little blog. I am terribly sorry everyone (and by everyone, I mean all 6 of you who read it!). 😉
I have a couple posts in the works, but I thought I would pop in to say hello and give a little update on life lately.
Last week I celebrated my 34th birthday! The weekend before my birthday, the hubs surprised me by saying I was going to Rochester to spend the weekend with my sister. We had a blast! We went shopping (and burned about 4,000 calories with all the walking – or at least it felt like it!), we had drinks and dinner, got facials, and had more drinks!
Besides a slight hangover the next day, it was an amazing time. So a big thank you to my amazing husband for letting me get away to hang out with my sister, and for letting me buy several new pairs of shoes. 😉 And I was lucky enough to arrive home to a cake made by Brynn (Jeff helped a bit too). Yum!
From there, I launched into the final preparations for Asher’s 2nd birthday party. I had a ton of baking to do (cookies, a cake, and cupcakes – definitely more than I usually sign up for!), but it was completely worth it because he had a BLAST! Everything turned out great and it was a really low-stress day, which is always a win in my book!
I have a post in the works to share details from the day, but here is a picture I shared on Instagram from the day.
Asher’s birthday party was this past Saturday, but we started the day with a trip to Sheer Madness – a kids’ haircut place. That’s because on Thursday night while I was at gymnastics with Brynn, Jeff decided to cut Asher’s hair himself. I had been cutting Asher’s hair myself for the 9 months or so since the one and only time we took him to a professional for a haircut, he cried so hard he threw up. Needless to say, a large tip was direly needed in that case.
I wasn’t amazing at cutting his hair, but it generally looked even and wasn’t in his eyes (plus it was free!). Well, here is the outcome of Jeff’s first hair cutting experience:
Yikes! Hence the reason for the professionals to be called in again. 😉 Here is the after:
The birthday party weekend ended with a fun trip to Build-a-Bear for Brynn since she filled up her good behavior sticker chart. We made one for Asher too even though he and Daddy were exhausted and decided to stay home to nap.
So that’s just a few of things we’ve been up to lately!
Thanks for bearing with me while I got my act together to get some new posts ready to go! 😉 Stay tuned, lots more posts to come in the coming days!
Until then…. 🙂
