The good news? Another work week down! The bad news? (for me at least) Next week is the first full week of work I’ve had in 3 weeks! Eek!
Let me distract myself then, with a glass of wine and some Five on Friday! 😉
un. I totally wanted to post last night but I was beat! But there reason was because Brynn started gymnastics last night! 🙂
It was a bit frantic at first as I had to race to pick up Asher, then rush home (only to get stuck in construction related traffic), eat four bites of dinner, change, and rush out the door to drive the 20 minutes to the gym. Phew!
When we got there it was JAM PACKED with people and I quickly realized, I had no idea what we were supposed to do or where we were supposed to go. Thankfully, not long after, a woman appeared in the doorway with a sign that said “Preschool.” So I yanked Brynn’s shoes off, pushed her toward the door, and hoped for the best!
Luckily Brynn is a pretty social kid these days so she just rolled with it. And she absolutely LOVED it!
I have no pictures because I was totally sitting in the corner reading my book instead of elbowing my way over to the window where everyone else was jockeying for position. Unfortunately parents aren’t allowed in the gym itself. They have TVs so you can watch, but Brynn was closer to the main door and therefore, out of the sight lines of the camera.
I’ll definitely try next week though to get a cute picture or twelve. 😉
deux. I am so excited for fall TV to come back! I miss my regular shows. It’s been fun streaming things like the latest season of Shameless, unReal, Veep, and Mr. Robot (since I love them all!), but I think I need a break from binge-watching, to go back to the tried and true, once a week format.
I’m sure I’ll regret saying this almost immediately, though, as I’m incredibly inpatient once there is a cliffhanger episode!
trois. I’m planning on doing a whole separate post on this, but I’m trying to psych myself up for this, so I’m putting it in writing now.
I’m going to start the Arbonne 30 Day Challenge this week (Monday at the latest, I swear!).
I’ve done the Challenge before, back in May, after my sister recommended it to me. Like similar “diets” or “cleanses,” the Arbonne challenge has you “eat clean.”
Trust me – I NEVER thought I would even utter the words “cleaning eating” let alone do it for 30 days!
Turns out, it wasn’t as horrible as I thought it might be! ha! It helped that Jeff did a similar challenge at the same time (he did AdvoCare since he knew someone who recommended that one to him) so we both were avoiding similar foods.
At the end of 30 days, I had lost 12 pounds which was great (and needed, at least I felt, since I still was holding on to about 10 pounds of baby weight from Asher and most of my clothes were…snug…at best). But really the best part was I truly felt AWESOME.
No lie. I was super skeptical that I could feel so much better (especially since I do not exercise other than chasing small children). I had a huge amount of energy, slept better, and just felt better overall. It was amazing.
But since then, I have slowly fell off the clean-eating-wagon.
So I’m trying again to get myself back on track. I wouldn’t be devastated to lose a few more pounds again, but mainly I’m trying to get back to that amazing feeling again!
I’ll do another post in the next week or so that details my routine and other ramblings about it!
quartre. I totally have a gift card from my birthday (in February) to IKEA still burning a hole in my pocket. I keep going to the site (the closest one to us is 90 minutes away, but in Canada, so a bit of a hassle) and filling my cart, but I can’t pull the trigger when it comes time to buy.
Probably because I always fill my cart up with about 4x what the gift card is for. Oops!
cinq. I have started Christmas shopping! I actually started picking up a few things last month. Then, being the uber-nerd I am, I keep track of everything (the gifts, how much spent, when I get it, when I wrap it) in a Google Docs spreadsheet.
I have a slight obsession with organization. And spreadsheets. 😉
How about you? Anyone else start Christmas shopping yet? Or excited for fall TV? I haven’t even checked to see what the new shows are, but the one I have heard about it the one with Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia called This is Us. The trailer looks great so I’m hoping the show lives up to it!
