The holidays are a wonderful time of year – especially because most of the major network TV shows go on winter hiatus so it leaves lots of nights free for catching up on (read: bingeing).
So I thought I would share some of the shows the husband and I are currently consuming at a feverish pace – sometimes 2 episodes in one night! 😉
We just caught up and watched the latest season – Season 7. We’ve been watching the Showtime show since it first aired. William H. Macy and Emmy Rossum are fantastic, as are the rest of the crazy, dysfunctional, Gallagher clan. Season 7 was a great season, too – the show really felt like it went back to its roots. If you haven’t watched Shameless at all, this is a great show to add to your DVR recording list!
Wow, just wow! A bunch of our friends and family recommended this and it didn’t disappoint! It’s about a western-themed park that costs a small fortune, but where the Richie Rich cowboys (and cowgals) that visit can basically do whatever they want – no rules and no consequences. Why? Robots. I’ll leave it at that, but this show was SO amazing, you really should check it out! Plus it stars Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, and James Marsden! Fun fact – it’s based on a 1973 movie of the same title that was written and directed by Michael Crichton (as in, Jurassic Park…guess he likes his crazy theme parks!). 😉
We have been playing catch up on Veep since somehow we ended up 3 seasons behind. I can’t believe I practically forgot how hilarious this show is! Julia Louis Dreyfus is in a class all her own, but the rest of the ensemble truly make it a can’t-miss-show. There are few shows that make me literally laugh out loud, but this is one of them!
Last, but certainly not least. In fact, this was the first one be binged! Where to start? It’s retro. Sci-fi. Adventure. Kid heros. Super powers. Winona Ryder. Trust me, it’s just great. 🙂
Now, if you excuse me, I must get back to Season 4 of Veep! (Only one and a half seasons to go!).
Happy TV bingeing, everyone!
