Happy Friday, everyone! This week has been a rough one, so I am super happy to be heading into a weekend with NO plans!
It’s been a while since I did a Five on Friday, and I have been itching to share some of my favorite things lately!
ONE. Inflatable Donut Pool Tube! Well, this will hopefully be one of my favorite things soon. We were really fortunate back in June to have a neighbor who was willing to give us a beautiful, only-four-year-old above ground pool. Brynn loved seeing the pool floats at Target, so I scooped this one up from Amazon back on Prime Day.
Unfortunately, we still have no pool. The weather has not cooperated, and then we needed a new part that had to be special ordered. Plus, didn’t help we had to change pool install companies at peak pool-install season.
It’s tentatively scheduled to be installed on Tuesday, so fingers crossed it actually happens this time! In mean time, I’ll just be sitting in my donut float in the kiddie pool. 😉
TWO. I’ve been hard at work getting in shape, eating better, etc. as part of some of my New Year’s goals, I blogged about way back here. One of my other goals is getting organized! I have successfully tackled some of the toy clutter, and have moved on to the kitchen. I’m putting together a larger post on organizing in general, but I had to share this amazing water bottle organizer!
I totally wish I got a “before picture” of our cabinets above the fridge. It was a giant mess! Maybe I’ll stage it again for my upcoming organization post! 😉
Enter this organizer. It’s AMAZING for the overwhelming supply of water bottles we have!
It comes with two, so you can organize 6 water bottles, and they’re stackable so you can even add more if you need to (spoiler alert: we already need more!). There are also other sizes, so instead of 3 by 3, they have a 2 by 2 option, for example, which works well if you have a smaller cabinet space to work with!
I love that it makes it so easy to see everything without knocking down all the bottles in front to grab the one you actually need that day. Genius! Where has this been all my life??
THREE. Speaking of water bottles, even though it seems as though we don’t need any more water bottles, I decided to buy two more recently. These are for the kids, though! We have been going on more walks as a family, or just spending time outside. Plus, Asher is not a huge water fan, so I was hoping a spiffy new water bottle might entice him.
Thank goodness for these kid sized Contigo water bottles! Brynn and Asher LOVE them and Asher is finally drinking more than a sip of water a day!
FOUR. I have jumped on the felt letterboard wagon. They have been popping up all over Instagram and other blogs, and so, of course, I decided to partake as well. I can’t wait to hang it up!
FIVE. I blogged back in October about how we use the Amazon Echo, and also got the smaller “Dot” version, too. Well, when the hubs and I saw that Amazon was releasing the new Amazon Echo Show, we couldn’t click “Add to Cart” fast enough. We did have to wait until the end of June for them to ship (that’s right – “them” – we totally bought the “two pack!”), but now that we’ve had them I’m completely obsessed.
I already loved the Echo, but the Show is like we’re the flippin’ Jetsons! We can ask for the weather report now, and Alexa tells us the forecast for the day, then she shows us the upcoming forecast for the week. It links to our Ring and Nest cameras we have, so it’s simple as saying “Alexa, show me the front door camera” and in an instant, we’re looking at our front door from our kitchen or bedroom. We can get news briefings, ask questions to run searches, watch YouTube and Amazon videos, and that’s barely scratching the surface!
I know having a house full of smart products isn’t for everyone, but I’ll admit, I’m a gadget nerd, so I love it! I resisted some of it at first, but now I couldn’t imagine living without these things! #nerdalert
Alright, it’s time for me to ask Alexa to turn off the lights so I can hit the sack. 😉
Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend!
